Hello world, from Santa Fe, New Mexico

Hi from evolve real estate Santa Fe!  As I travel around Santa Fe and its surrounding areas, I take photos of things I see – not just homes, but neighborhoods, landmarks, unusual events.  Hope you like what I see….

Oscar-Nominated Producer Revels in All Things New Mexico

It seems that this year New Mexico is really coming into its own for great, larger budget movies. Thanks to our great state film office, our incentives and the increasing sophisticated talent we have right here on the ground, the film industry here is in great shape. This is a good story about NM’s own Tony Mark, exec producer of The Hurt Locker, which is up for nine Oscars.

Another great New York Times story about Santa Fe!

http://travel.nytimes.com/2010/02/07/travel/07santafe.html?src=twt&twt=nytimesvisual

Santa Fe still holds out a promise of renewal, of exactly what Lawrence was looking for when he came to this area: a place that could change not only one’s external life but also one’s inner, spiritual life. “Touch the country,” he said of New Mexico, “and you will never be the same again.”

What is Santa Fe? A place of healing, since the tuberculosis sufferers started coming over a century ago. A spiritual mini-mecca for a semi-godless age. A sumptuous adobe haven for a few super-rich. A land of hope for thousands of illegal immigrants. A hothouse of talent and IQ, with an extraordinary concentration of Ph.D.’s, and more artists than any American city its size…..

Median Price for Santa Fe Homes rising a little, at 1/31/2010

Median price seems to be dragging along the bottom at the moment. With only around 200 sales per quarter, single transactions can skew the numbers. However you can see from the 90 day line, the trend is ticking upward.

Inventory for Single Family Properties in SANTA FE, NM

Good news for sellers, and perhaps a clue that the market’s turning? Inventory’s going down in Santa Fe, after a peak in September. I think it implies that sellers are getting more reasonable/resigned in the prices they will accept. It’s a good thing – we need to get the glut of properties behind us.

Classic Craftsman home for sale in Santa Fe, NM

Santa Fe NM isn’t all adobe and flat roofs.  Many of the Eastern businesspeople who came out here wanted to build solid, familiar homes in this exotic place.  HH Dorman was one of those, and his stunning craftsman home is now for sale in Santa Fe, at an asking price of $1.1 million.  Here is a link to the listing: http://tinyurl.com/yzvdsth

Clafoutis – excellent Santa Fe restaurant!

From the cheery “bonjour” when you go into the restaurant, through the very French menu, you know this is a special place! I had a great breakfast there yesterday – don’t miss the croissants, even if you’re on a diet!
